Zhero emission logistics for London.

Context:

Ollie King and Joe Sharpe have combined operations experience of more than twenty years, managing large teams and fleets of vehicles. They decided to start up their own company in 2020 using purely electric vans and electrically assisted cargo bikes.

Zhero serves London’s arts, interiors, fashion, and photoshoot industries with the logistics solutions they need. Mission Zhero is to offer green logistics, whilst providing clients with unrivalled levels of service.

Requirements:

Zhero needed branding elements that would stand out whilst on the road and online, a website and help with developing a visual language that grows with the business. A major factor was to try to embrace the paperless office as much as possible so there is no pre-printed marketing collateral at all for the company. The visual identity needed to reflect the care they take in handling goods for transport, the environmentally sympathetic ethos of the company and the dynamism and energy inherent in their company approach.

Solution:

The logo was developed from a sketch Ollie did at the outset, set in a bright green adjusted and tested for reproduction in scale from website icon to the side of an electric van. The logo is supported by bold typography and a uniquely Zhero tone of voice. The visual identity was implemented across vehicle livery, clothing for staff, the website and various digital marketing materials. In addition to the visual identity I helped to find them premises in Hackney Bridge on the edge of Queen Elizabeth Park and the London 2012 Olympic site.

Results:

Zhero has had an extremely successful first year and a half in trading. Growing the fleet from a single cargo bike, an electric van and two people to 3 vans, 6 cargo bikes and 12 staff. They have many repeat customers and have successfully gained contracts in moving artworks for discerning galleries in London which was one of the markets they wanted to serve from the beginning.
